Whenever the Chicago Bulls - that is the 1990's peak dynasty hype Chicago Bulls - came to your city, you were in for a special treat. Sure it was a big deal to see Air Jordan leap through the air defying gravity. Sure it was a special treat to watch Scottie Pippen exert his will against opponenets with a blended arsenal of fully polished guard and forward moves. But the truest thing of beauty that I enjoyed more than anything, was taking in a Dennis Rodman hosted clinic of defense, rebounding, trash talk, and mind games!
Rodman is worthy of the GOAT label because of just how effective and impactful he was on the game of pro basketball given his inherent gifts. Rodman was just 6'7" making him fairly undersized for his position of Power Forward in the league. Despite being smaller in stature, Rodman was an absolute warrior on the court, especially if there was a loose ball or a rebound up for grabs. His intelligence and instinct for securing the best possible position is something that we will likely never see again. Rodman would spend countless hours crunching game film, sizing up his opponents so that he would have the inside track and be able to expose the weaknesses of his foes when it came to defending, rebounding, and chipping in where he could offensively with high percentage attempts.
